Terms of Service

These terms cover Doubled — the website at doubled.app and the iOS app of the same name (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by the individual who makes Doubled, referred to here as “we”. Using the Service means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

Who can use Doubled

You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to online services on your own, you must meet that age instead. We do not knowingly allow accounts below these ages, and an account found to belong to someone younger will be removed.

Accounts

The daily puzzle can be played without an account. Signing in is what carries streaks, statistics, and group membership between devices.

• Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. Activity under your account is treated as yours.
• One person, one account. Accounts are not to be sold, shared, or transferred.
• Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
• You can delete your account at any time. Doing so removes your play history and takes your streaks with it, and it cannot be undone.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• Interfere with the Service or the servers behind it, including attempts to gain access you have not been given.
• Submit results by any route other than playing the game — scripted or automated play, replaying a puzzle to improve a recorded result, or otherwise faking statistics.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy puzzles or puzzle images.
• Choose a display or group name that is abusive, impersonates someone else, or is otherwise offensive. Names are visible to other members of any group you join.
• Resell or commercially redistribute any part of the Service.

We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules, and where the breach is serious we may do so without notice.

Puzzles and other content

Puzzles, puzzle images, and the design of the Service belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may play them, and you may share a result or a link with other people. You may not republish the puzzle images, present them as your own, or build a competing product from them.

Anything you type into the Service — a display name, a group name — stays yours. By entering it you allow us to store and display it as the Service requires, such as showing your name to the other members of your group.

Premium

Some features are paid. Purchases are made and processed through the Apple App Store, not by us directly.

• Pricing and availability are shown in the store at the time of purchase.
• Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under that store’s policy. We cannot return money we never received.
• If a purchase completes but the feature does not unlock, contact us and we will fix the entitlement.
• Premium is tied to the account it was redeemed on and cannot be moved to another one.

Advertising

The Service is funded partly by advertising, including ads served by Google. Ads are labelled as such and are not endorsements. What happens once you follow an ad is between you and the advertiser. How advertising cookies are used is set out in the privacy policy.

Availability

Doubled is provided as it is, with no promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of faults. Puzzles are published daily on a best-effort basis. Features may be changed, added, or withdrawn, and the Service may be suspended for maintenance. Where a change is significant and we can give notice, we will.

We keep backups, but we do not guarantee that streaks, statistics, or history can be recovered if something goes wrong.

Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, or for lost data, lost streaks, or lost profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Ending your use

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may close an account that breaches these terms, or withdraw the Service entirely, in which case we will give what notice is reasonable in the circumstances.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the Service after a change means accepting the updated terms. Material changes will be signalled in the app where practical.
