About Doubled

Doubled is a free daily word puzzle. Every day there is one AI-generated image, and hidden inside it is a two-part phrase joined by a single shared word.

The idea

Most word games ask you to find a word. Doubled asks you to find a hinge — the one word that two completely different phrases both depend on.

Read it left to right and you get one familiar phrase. Read it right to left and you get another. The word in the middle does double duty, which is where the name comes from. The picture is your only clue, and it illustrates the whole chain as literally — and usually as absurdly — as possible.

Doubled runs in any modern browser at doubled.app, and it is also available as a native app on iOS and Android. Your progress syncs between them when you are signed in.
